Jazz guitarist Chuck Walker is now offering beginning, intermediate and advanced guitar lessons for individual students.
Chuck is a patient, experienced teacher who enjoys sharing the gift of music. He custom tailors his teaching technique for each student to make every lesson comprehensive, fulfilling, and enjoyable. Students can expect to explore music theory, as well as gain the skills to continue a lifetime of ever-improving guitar abilities. Whether you're interested in jazz, blues, folk, rock, or reggae, Chuck works with you to research popular artists of that genre and develop your personal repertoire.
Teaching and performing professionally for over 10 years in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, Chuck has studied jazz with many renowned masters like Mingus' alto saxophonist John Handy, San Diego's own Daniel Jackson, Dr. Carl Hammond, Dr. Dee Spencer, Dr. Hafez Modirzadeh, Jim Grantham, Wayne Wallace, and John Worley.
Chuck's approach to, knowledge of, and techniques for the guitar will improve any guitar player's style. Emphasizing musicianship and music fundamentals at all levels, Chuck encourages, inspires, and challenges his students to learn and express their talent with music. In addition to a solid musical foundation, students can expect to learn music theory, practice techniques, music history, approaches to improvisation, arranging, and composition.

Student Rates
Reduced rates for students enrolled in High School, College, or University classes
$20 / 30 minute lesson
$25 / 45 minute lesson

Lesson and practice schedules are determined upon the goals and expectations of the student. Generally, preparation for each lesson requires 30 minutes of practice per day. Half hour lessons are normally scheduled once a week for beginning students. Intermediate and advanced students generally schedule weekly one hour lessons.
